Pork Chop Dinner

Tonight Dabo and I are having pork chop dinner. For those of you who know me, its been a long time since I last cooked a decent meal. I got this recipe from a slow cooker cookbook that I bought from Borders and its amazing. Taste a little similar to the goulash that we had in Vienna. I can just put everything into the cooker before i leave for work and voila! dinner is waiting for me when I reach home. nothing beats coming home to the smell of homecooked dinner and you know that its healthy too.To indulged myself a bit, I bought a set of Cole & Mason salt & pepper mill. Not too expensive just $89-80. One of the reason my motivation came back is because of Immanuel. He is starting to take solids and I wanna cook nutritious meals for him. Can't wait to bake cookies with him..... : ) I'll try to cook more often as its healthier and helps me to relax. : )

Shichida We or Shichida We Not

I heard about this course called Shichida recently that it is really good. They believed that if the child's right brain is developed well together with the left brain, the heart will be raised to a high level of potential. That is when a child is able to exceed our expectations and show his or her strengths. Ok, sounds too good to be true right? Mind you, it doesn't come cheap. Costs about $780 every 12 lessons, once a week, 1.15mins each lesson. I feel it worth a try but daddy feels Immanuel is still too young. He should be enjoying his babyhood and live carefree. Would I be giving him stress indirectly? Its the last thing I wanna do to my darling. So, we have decided to attend the free preview talk first and then pray about it. We will listen to God's direction for Immanuel. Hallelujah!

Baby Blessing

Today Immanuel is exactly 6mth old. Its also his baby blessing day! We had the honour of Pastor Daniel performing the ceremony for us. He annointed Immanuel's head with oil and we all prayed over him. Today we have consecrated Immanuel to God. He is blessed! Amen.

Immanuel and Mummy

How time flies! Immanuel will be turning 6 months in a week's time. He is growingso fast.... I'm so afraid I don't spend enough time with him. These days, he will chuckle whenever he sees us. And he will make funny sounds to get our attention to carry him. He will also use his hands to sweep away the milk bottle whenever he is distracted. Sometimes, he does it so hard that the bottle will fly outta my hand onto the floor. Then I'll rebuke him. But when he flashes me his cute toothless grin, my heart just melts. How can someone so small yields so much power?

Immanuel and Daddy

A lot of people says the both of them look alike; do you think so?

My $18 Hair-cut

This morning daddy tried to shave my hair coz he thought it was a little too long. But I hated the feel of the shaver against my scalp and I fidgetted so much that he left many "holes" in my hair. Mummy was so upset that she refused to speak to daddy. In the end, daddy managed to locate this professional stylist at Suntec City to redeem the situation. It wasn't impressive but beats the one that daddy did.

The Love of my Life

Everyday when I look at Immanuel, I just have to thank our heavenly Father for giving me this blessing. I would never deserve anything so beautiful like him. When I look at Immanuel, I whispered to God to grant me and Dabo the wisdom to lead him to path God has for him. Let God's favour and grace reign in his life.

Reunion dinner '08 at Uncle Ronnie's place

Its Immanuel's first chinese new year reunion dinner with us....... to think that he wasn't even here last year. He slept around 8pm so that leaves us with a lot of time to feast. He is a good boy and very lovable.I can clearly see God's favour and love upon him.I have not seen him for two days and I think he has grown quite a lot! : ) His voice seemed a little hoarse today so we fed him some barley water. God bless His boy.

Immanuel in his walker

Just been told by my grandma that Immanuel has been zapping around the house in his walker today! He has been pulling everything he can reach so now we have to start keeping things out of his way.So cute........Can't wait to see him do that. Its really amazing how he has grown so much from the first day we came back from hospital.Come to think of it, I kinda miss the early days when he was so dependent on me for every need.Children grow really fast, so I'm gonna make sure I spent as much time as I can with him and not take him for granted. If I could,I'll spent every waking moment with him. :)

I weigh 53kg today

Yup,another 4kg more to lose to be back to my old self.Thank God.Dabo and I brought Immanuel to Samy's curry at Dempsey for dinner today. We both had craving for the masala chicken there but it turned out to be a so-so affair. After that we drop by Jones the Grocer.I picked up a reusable shopping bag from them.Think its time I spare the plastic bags and start bringing my own bag each time I visit the supermarkets.I feel good that I can help reduce plastic waste and make the earth a better place to live in for the next generation.I hope to cultivate this value in Immanuel.Children afterall, learn by seeing what their parents do, than by what we say.

ACS or St. Stephen?

This matter has been bogging us ever since we found out I was pregnant with a boy.My dear hubby is so anxious about the type of school Immanuel will end up in.He feels that ACS boys have a unique "style" or "charisma" that no other boys from other schools possess. He rang up ACS, MOE, WMC & ACS old boys to check how to get our son into the school. He will even consider selling everything and moved to Balmoral just to qualify for the 1 kilometre batch! From all their responses, it seems that it is 0.0001% chance for us as we dun qualify any of the criteria. So, in the end we were just thankful that at least we could still sent Immanuel to St. Stephen as daddy was an old boy there. We deliberately drove to the school to check out the environment and found it to be ok. It is situated in East Coast and right smacked in the middle of all the private houses. So it is finalised that Immanuel will be St. Stephnian. Most importantly, we found daddy's report card...... : )

My breast-feeding supplements

These are my breastfeeding supplements that I had been taking.Fenugreek had really helped me to produce more milk flow.I also try to eat as much fish as possible these days. But,I'd still allow myself the liberty to eat laksa, curry fish head, otah and coffee on a moderate basis whenever the craving gets overbearing.Wonder if I eat durian will I produce durian-flavoured milk???? ; ) I have plans to stop breast-feeding once Immanuel reaches 7 mths. Now, I have to 'double work' of expressing and feeding him from bottle. This should free up a lot of my time. But on the other hand,I know breast milk is best for him.I'm really in a dilemna. : (
