Yokoso! Tokyo 23 - 29 Apr '08

Dabo and I spend six great days in Tokyo. We had an enjoyable time feasting around tokyo and the weather was great too.Although we missed the sakura but there were still plenty of other things to see and do.We went to this great restaurant recommended by dear chen yen that serves marbled beef.Everything was perfect.Below is a picture taken with the chef - Moribe-san.I missed Immanuel a lot but for the betterment of our relationship,I've promised myself that I'll spend quality time with Dabo.It was not so bad as I thought and I felt our marriage was rejuvenated to just the two of us like before.

Immanuel after swimming

My little darling is so tired after swimming that he fell into a deep sleep.Unconciously, I had wrapped him up in his towel just like the day he was born in hospital. Now he is already coming to eight months old.Watching him grow makes me realise how time had flew by!Doesn't he look like an angel from heaven?!

Water Babes!

Today we brought Immanuel for his first swimming lesson at One15.Although it was rather cloudy,I still applied sunblock on Immanuel just in case.To our pleasant surprise,he was not afraid at all and took to the water naturally. His cute little feet just kept waddling about in the water. So cute.....!The float that daddy bought for him was very useful too.He was clearly enjoying himself.

Hey Good-looking Dude!

Hoo....I love this lop-sided smile! So cool..... We were at the HDB this morning arranging for our mortgage payment before going to One15.I cooked ikan bilis and dried scallop porridge for Immanuel and he liked it.I tasted some and it was very yummy!I must thanked all the wonderful mummies (Sky,Wendy,Ji Lyn,Emily & Dawn) whom I had lunch with on wed who gave me lots of tips on how not to burn the porridge!Cheers!

My Finished Mosaic art mirror

This is the finished product after I did the grouting. Honestly, I'm not too pleased with it as I felt my little white flowers were "drowned out".I used a light brown grout overall but it would have been better if I had used a white grout on the white side and a dark brown on the brown side. This way,the 'yin' and 'yang' would be more balanced.I will speak to my teacher and explore on the possibilites coz I intend to use this design for my bathroom series.I particularly liked this design coz it brings out both the contemporary (white side) and the japanese zen (brown side) style that I adopt for my home.

The Last of my Breastfeeding (bf)

Today might be the last of my bf for Immanuel.I can only say I am so glad I made the decision to breastfeed him until now.It was very tough experience and not as easy as most books or experts say.My confinement helper did not gave me the right advice in the first month and actually discouraged me from bf!It was only until she left us that I "started" to really bf Immanuel. But by this time,he refused to latch on and preferred the bottle which is much faster. As a result,I had to expressed up to six times a day, half an hour each time and even waking up in the wee hours of 2:30am to do it.I could not rest when Immanuel was sleeping coz I had to express.By the time I finished,he had waken up!Looking back now,I would not have done it without the support of my wonderful hubby who helped out with most of the housework and such.By our Abba's grace,Immanuel had not fallen ill even once up till now. Thanks be to Abba Father! (But I must admit that I do miss bf Immanuel and the closeness we shared as mother and child.)

Our new interest .....

Dabo and I developed a new craze over South American (flamenco/latin) and Cuban music recently. We liked them for their percussions, drum and lively spirit. We ordered one from the internet and also bought two cds from gramaphone today. After sending Immanuel to my aunty, we came home early to enjoy the cds.We also opened a bottle of wine to accompany the great musik. Its a nice way to end off a weekend and start a new one.

My two Beloved Girls

These are my beloved girls - Ainsley and Clicquot.WH and CY are away in Tokyo so Clic came to stay with us.Ainsley had diarrhoea today. When we came home from church, we found that she had messed up the entire kitchen.I washed the two girls while dabo cleaned up the kitchen with chlorine bleach. We began to suspect if it was the food at pawtobello that causes the stomach upset in Ainsley. The other time we brought her there, she got it too.
